Frequently Asked Questions
What ages do you serve?
We welcome children from 5 months to 5 years old. Our environment and daily rhythms are thoughtfully designed to support each stage of early development.
What does “play-first” mean?
Play-first means children learn through exploration, curiosity, and meaningful experiences. Rather than a rigid curriculum, learning emerges from children’s interests and is supported by intentional environments and caring educators.
Are you Reggio Emilia inspired?
Yes. Our approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which views children as capable, curious, and active participants in their learning. We emphasize relationships, project-based learning, and the environment as a teacher.
How much time do children spend outdoors?
Outdoor play is an important part of every day. Children spend 80% of the time outside daily, engaging in movement, exploration, and nature-based learning appropriate to their age and the weather.
What is a typical day like?
Each day follows a gentle rhythm that includes free play, small-group experiences, outdoor time, meals, rest, and project work. While there is structure, the day remains flexible and responsive to children’s needs and interests.
How do you support infants differently than toddlers?
Infants are cared for with a strong focus on secure attachment, individual routines, and responsive caregiving. As children grow, they are gradually introduced to more peer interaction, exploration, and collaborative play.
What is your teacher-to-child ratio?
We maintain maximum 1:6 teacher to child ratio that allow educators to build meaningful relationships with each child and provide attentive, responsive care throughout the day.
How do you communicate with families?
We believe families are partners in learning. Communication includes daily conversations, ongoing documentation, and regular opportunities to connect about your child’s experiences and growth.
How do I schedule a tour?
You can request a tour through our website by completing the tour request form. We’ll reach out to schedule a visit that works for your family.
Is there pressure to enroll after a tour?
Not at all. A tour is simply an opportunity to visit, ask questions, and see if our space feels like the right fit for your family.
